Product Information

Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor monitors the extreme temperatures of the exhaust gases to protect vital engine and exhaust components (like the turbocharger and DPF) from thermal damage. It continuously sends accurate temperature data to the Engine Control Unit (ECU), playing a critical role in managing the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration process. This sensor is part of NRF's EASY FIT line, indicating it is designed for a hassle-free, direct replacement installation . It features a 600 mm cable, an M14x1.5 thread with a 50 mm fitting depth, and a 2-pin rectangular connector, ensuring perfect compatibility for specific Renault and Volvo commercial applications .

About the Manufacturer: NRF

Since 1927, NRF (Nederlandse Radiateuren Fabriek) has been a leading manufacturer and supplier of cooling, air conditioning, and engine management parts for the automotive and commercial vehicle aftermarket. Known initially for their high-quality radiators, NRF has vastly expanded its portfolio to include precision electronic components, such as exhaust gas and pressure sensors, maintaining strict European quality standards and focusing on "EASY FIT" solutions for mechanics.

Symptoms of a faulty EGT Sensor:

Check Engine Light or DPF Warning Light illuminated on the dashboard.
Vehicle entering "Limp Mode" (reduced engine power) to protect the turbocharger from overheating.
Failed DPF regeneration cycles, leading to a quickly clogged Diesel Particulate Filter.
Increased fuel consumption and higher exhaust emissions.

⚠ Diagnostic & Installation Tip ⚠

Before replacing the exhaust gas temperature sensor:

Ensure the exhaust system is completely cold to avoid severe burns and to reduce the risk of stripping the M14x1.5 threads in the exhaust pipe during removal .
Spray the old sensor's threads with penetrating oil and let it soak before attempting to unscrew it, as these sensors tend to seize due to extreme heat cycles.
When installing the new NRF EASY FIT sensor, route the 600 mm cable carefully, keeping it secured and away from direct contact with the hot exhaust pipes to prevent the wire insulation from melting .
