The High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) is the heart of modern petrol direct injection fuel systems . Driven mechanically by the camshaft and regulated via an integrated electric control valve, this genuine VDO / CONTINENTAL unit compresses petrol to the extreme pressures required for direct cylinder injection . Precise high-pressure fuel delivery ensures optimal fuel atomization, instantaneous throttle response, improved fuel economy, and reduced exhaust emissions . Supplied complete with a new seal ring (Note: not suited for Flexfuel applications), it serves as an exact Original Equipment (OE) replacement for various BMW petrol models .

⚠ Diagnostic & Installation Tip ⚠
Before replacing the high-pressure fuel pump:
- Safety First: Direct injection fuel systems operate under extreme pressure. Always safely depressurize the fuel system and allow the engine to cool completely before disconnecting any fuel lines .
- Inspect the camshaft lobe and the roller tappet (cam follower) for signs of wear, scoring, or flat spots. A worn cam follower must be replaced simultaneously to prevent immediate damage to the new pump .
- Lubricate the new seal ring with clean engine oil before mounting, and tighten the mounting bolts evenly in a cross-pattern (alternating turns) so the pump seats squarely against the cylinder head .
