Product Information

Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor is a highly robust thermistor designed to continuously monitor the extreme temperatures of exhaust gases up to 900 °C. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) relies on this critical temperature data to manage the DPF regeneration process and protect highly sensitive exhaust components (like the turbocharger and catalytic converter) from catastrophic thermal damage. This genuine BOSCH sensor features an angled tip and premium thermal protection flexible insulating tubing to withstand severe heat and vibrations. Designed as a direct OE replacement for Mercedes-Benz vehicles .

⚠ Diagnostic & Installation Tip ⚠

Before replacing this sensor:

Always apply a small amount of high-temperature anti-seize compound to the M14x1.5 threads before installation, ensuring absolutely no paste gets on the sensor tip.
Use a torque wrench to tighten the sensor to exactly 45 Nm as specified by the manufacturer. Over-tightening can permanently damage the internal thermistor element.
Carefully route the thermal protection flexible insulating tubing to ensure it does not chafe against sharp edges or touch direct heat sources like the exhaust manifold.
Check the 2-pin oval black connector for melting, corrosion, or pushed-out pins before reconnecting.
